State Fair

Steve and I decided to take London to the State Fair on Sunday. We hadn’t been in probably six years so we met up with Russ, and Heidi & Josh and had a great time. Well, we did so hopefully everyone else did as well. The weather wasn’t ideal to walking around outside all day…it was sooooo cold! But, we kept London warm with a jacket and lots of blankets. She got fussy a few times because she wanted to get out and walk around so we had to take a few breaks here and there.

She rode her first ride on the carousel. She seemed to like it. I think she was more fascinated with the lights at the top than she was anything else. The horse we picked out when really high so I was getting nervous I wouldn’t be able to hold on to her. After a few goes around she wanted off so we sat in one of the little sled seats and waited till it was over.

Her favorite part of the day was probably when her daddy fed her some funnel cake covered in powdered sugar and chocolate syrup. She couldn’t get enough of it! She actually got a little tude with him when he stopped feeding her.

After the fair we hung out at Heidi’s and ate some pizza...London included...she LOVES pizza crust. It was 7 by the time we left Raleigh and London was soooooo pooped that she passed out after a few ounces of her bottle in the car. The poor thing was trying to hold her bottle the whole time and it just kept slipping out of her hands when she would nod off. She woke up after about an hour, finished her bottle, then was out for the rest of the night!

On the carousel.
This is what happens when daddy feeds her funnel cake.

Trying to take a picture, but London didn't want to cooperate.

My cuties :)

Our sauce won a blue ribbon for best condiment

This was displayed at the fair in the Got to be NC exhibit.

11 months!!!

So I’ve been a little slack with updating our blog since it’s wedding season and we’ve been extremely busy with weddings. But I’ve been told by multiple parties that it’s time to update the blog, so here goes…

L-boogie…our sweet little chunky nugget is now a little over 11 months old. It’s hard to believe that our precious 7lb 10oz baby girl is now this grown up, soon to be one year old. Time really flies by! And many things have changed since our last post. Although she has not quite mastered walking, it will be any day now. She will take about 2 steps toward us before she slowly squats to a crawling position. But be careful, because if she gets a hold of your fingers, she’ll drag you around the room. And she has FINALLY gotten her first tooth. It’s not fully out, but most of the way, and it’s adorable. I love seeing it shine through her little grin.

As for Steve and I…well, we are happy but worn out!!! Between work, and more work, a little girl who is into everything, and our growing hours of lack of sleep, we’ve been barely getting by. It’s definitely time for another vacation. We had a mini vacation with our weekend away from baby when Kelly got married, but we hardly saw one another so it didn’t really count. After our last wedding this fall (which will be in a few weeks), and London’s first birthday, I think we’ll treat ourselves to a weekend in the mountains :) Maybe!

We are very much looking forward to the day we have planned for Boogie’s birthday, which will be held at the barn due to the growing guest list. I can’t wait…Nor can I wait for Halloween. This year, we are dressing up as a family, to the Wizard of Oz. I don’t want to spoil the hilarity of the photos we will be sending out, but between myself, London, Steve and Frankie, we will be dressed as the lion, the scarecrow, the tin man, and Dorothy. But, you will never guess who will be wearing what!!! Stay tuned.

Until then, here are the most recent photos I’ve taken of our little princess…
