We've started the transformation of an old house on the Fryar's farm to our new home. It's extremely well built (1954) but in need of updating. The yard needs quite a bit of work as well.
On the agenda is:
Electrical renovation (overhead lighting, update aluminim wiring and old style receptacles in back 1/2 of house)
Paint all around
Insulation all around
Windows all around
Doors all around
Updated Trim
Paint Brick Exterior
Shutters
Back deck addition
EXTREME YARD MAKEOVER
Here's the Living Room, paint, trim and who knows what else:

Pardon the Christmas Tree

London's temporary room (until we rewire her new room). We just painted in here. It was SUNSHINE YELLOW! The hole in the wall you see is from the hot water radiant heater that is out of commision. We are going to paint the cover and reinstall it. I kinda like the way they look around the house...vintage.

Master bathroom. Ricky did a good job remodeling this. Just needs a little bit of color.

Master bedroom. Paint and trim primarily.

The view from London's new room (once rewired) down through her hallway. The Office will be on the left just exiting this door. This room needs new electrical, new ceiling, overhead lighting, closet doors, an entry and repainting.
As you can see, we have our work cut out for us. We plan on taking it slow and methodical, doing things right and not skimping, as we plan on staying here for the "long haul." We are within sight of the Fryars and within walking distance (or golf cart, depending on the weather) of Crystal's work. Not to mention, the land is surrounded by the farm, which will serve as a nice buffer, as well as a place for London to explore, go fishing, birdwatching and even hunting (if her Momma will let her!)
